Kathryn Budig is an internationally celebrated yoga teacher, author, and founder of the community Haus of Phoenix and The Inky Phoenix book club, with a quarter million followers on Instagram and Facebook. With nearly two decades of experience in her field, Budig co-hosted the WebAward-nominated podcast, Free Cookies, served as the yoga editor to Women’s Health magazine for five years, contributed recipes and sat on the Yahoo Health Advisory Board, and regularly contributed to YogaJournal and MindBodyGreen. She is the creator of the Aim True Yoga DVD, author of The Women’s Health Big Book of Yoga, and bestselling Aim True. She lives in Charleston, SC with her wife, Kate Fagan, and their dog, Ragnar.

During this phase, we're reviewing manuscripts and deciding which book we want to publish. At the end of this phase, we offer an author a book deal.

Consideration

As the manuscript goes through several phases of editorial work, the cover and interior design takes place, while format decisions about paper stocks and printing treatments are made.

Editorial & Design

While the books are on press, the pre-order links go live and the marketing campaign ramps up with waves of review copy mailings to media and influencers.

My love for books runs deep. Bookstores were my favorite place to visit as a child, I received a double major in English Literature and Drama from the University of Virginia, and I went on to author *The Women's Health Big Book of Yoga* and *Aim True*. My most recent work was published in Zosia Mamet’s anthology, *My First Popsicle*, but my true loves have yet to meet the world — I too write fiction, and long to see it in published form. I co-hosted the podcast Free Cookies where we bantered and interviewed notables such as Madeline Miller, TJ Klune, George M. Johnson, and Emily St. John Mandel. Plus, I have the cutest rescue pup in the world: Ragnar Ashison.
