In celebration of The Odyssey hitting theaters ...
here’s a recommended reading list to keep you going!
For starters, make sure to read the translation by Emily Wilson. It’s the only female translation and it is brilliant.
Doesn’t hurt to know what Odysseus went through before his odyssey even began. The Iliad is a must.
Two of the most stunning novels and hint hint the one on the left might be our next Inky Phoenix pick. Odysseus is featured in both, with an especially raw, human take in Circe.
Anything by Natalie Haynes is a must when it comes to Greek mythology, but A Thousand Ships tells the story of The Iliad through the women’s stories. Stunning.
You’ll never look at Odysseus the same. Hero? Methinks not.
No relation to The Odyssey, but who doesn’t want a Medusa retelling?
This is more for vibes than it is being in relation to The Odyssey, and remains one of my favorite novels.
Happy reading everyone!
